About us
Everyone is welcome. No one is invisible. No one is forgotten.
For the past 13 years, Church Under a Bridge has faithfully gathered beneath the Gentry Bridge in Tyler, Texas, creating a place of hope in the middle of our city. What began as a simple act of obedience has grown into a consistent outreach to those who are often overlooked but deeply loved by God.
Church Under a Bridge is an outreach ministry committed to sharing the love and truth of Jesus Christ with our community — especially those experiencing homelessness, hardship, or spiritual need. We meet each Sunday under the Gentry Bridge, serving breakfast and coffee at 9:45 a.m., followed by worship and the Word at 10:30 a.m.
Our mission is simple: to spread the Gospel and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We believe in meeting both spiritual and physical needs through compassion, consistency, and authentic community.

Faith In Action
We exist to share the Gospel and demonstrate the love of Christ through consistent presence, compassion, and service in our community.

Sharing the Gospel
We boldly preach the Word of God and offer hope through worship, prayer, and biblical teaching every Sunday.

Serving Practical Needs
From breakfast and coffee to prayer and support, we meet both physical and spiritual needs with dignity and love.

Building Community
We create a place where relationships are restored, burdens are shared, and no one walks alone.
Hope Lives Here
Under the bridge is more than pavement and pillars — it is a place of transformation.
Here, breakfast is served with dignity. Worship rises with sincerity. Prayer is offered without judgment. And the Gospel is shared boldly.
We exist to bring light into hard places. To meet physical needs while never losing sight of eternal hope. To remind every person who walks up that they matter — not just to us, but to God.
Called to Love in Action
Scripture teaches us to care for those in need. Jesus said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me” (Matthew 25:40).
At Church Under a Bridge, we take that calling seriously. We serve, we pray, and we share the Gospel because faith is not meant to be hidden — it is meant to be lived out.
Our Heart for the Community
Church Under a Bridge is built on three simple commitments:
Love Without Condition
Every person is welcomed with dignity and grace.
Serve Without Hesitation
We meet needs — physical and spiritual — with consistency.
Share Hope Without Compromise
The Gospel is at the center of everything we do.

Our Community Partners
“Two are better than one… for if either of them falls, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
We believe ministry thrives through partnership. We are thankful for the churches, local businesses, and volunteers who faithfully support the work happening under the bridge. Together, we are stronger — and together, we serve.

“I came to Church Under a Bridge after losing my job and going through a divorce. I was living in my car and came because I needed a hot meal. But under that bridge, I found more than food — I found Jesus.”
— Church Family Member
“Church Under a Bridge blessed my family with a Thanksgiving dinner this year. Without it, we would have gone hungry. We don’t even attend church there, but they loved us anyway.”
— Local Family
“I was lost in drugs and alcohol, living between tent city and the Sally. I hated God and only came for the free meal. I kept showing up anyway. Eventually, God found me. Life isn’t perfect — but God is good.”
— A Life Changed
There’s a Place for You Here
No matter your story, you are welcome under the bridge. Come as you are. Find hope. Encounter Jesus.
